Counsel That You Can Trust & Depend On

Leesburg Florida car accident lawyer discusses filing a claim with Progressive Insurance.

Guy DiMartino Oct. 21, 2013

Progressive is the fourth largest automobile insurance company in the United States behind State Farm, Allstate and GEICO. It insures about 11 million cars in the United States. Progressive’s corporate headquarters is in Mayfield Village, Ohio. Progressive has made good use of the internet and TV marketing. I’m sure you have seen Progressive’s commercials with “Flo”. Progressive has claims offices throughout Florida. In the Orlando area, Progressive’s automobile claims are adjusted in Tampa and Maitland. In South Florida, there are offices in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.

Progressive prides itself on have a fast road team of estimators/adjusters. They drive those Ford Escapes and other mini-SUVs with the Progressive letter all over it. I’m sure you have seen them on the road. These adjusters will come to a traffic accident victim’s home with a day or two and adjuster the claim on the scene. My clients have been pretty happy with the speed of Progressive’s property damage division.

Progressive’s Pre-Litigation Settlement Tactics

Progressive’s insurance adjusters are knowledgeable, professional and pleasant to deal with. Like most insurance companies, Progressive’s adjusters will pay promptly on cases where there are large damages. However, on routine soft tissue cases, Progressive’s offers are lower than expected.

Typical Size of Progressive Policies

Generally, I see Progressive policy holders with smaller policies. So, Progressive will generally flip its smaller policies quickly to protect its customers. Progressive also writes high limit and commercial policies. The problem with a lot of Progressive policies is that the limits do not really make sense. I believe this happens because a lot of people purchase the insurance online without the benefit of speaking with an agent about appropriate benefit and limits.

Progressive, like other big insurance companies, have in-house lawyers in heavily populated areas. I have had better experiences dealing with Progressive’s outside lawyers than its in-house law office in West Palm Beach.
