A recent article in the Times reported noted that two men died in a Hobart car accident. The crash occurred on Highway 51 and 33 rd avenue when the car ended up in a ditch. According to the report, the road was wet and the car was traveling at a high rate of speed and must have lost control leaving the roadway – killing the driver and front seat passenger and seriously injuring a back seat passenger.

Northwest Indiana's weather is changing quickly; one minute our roads can be dry and the next minute they can be slippery and wet. It is important for all drivers to monitor road conditions closely because it is much more difficult to control your vehicle when driving on a wet road. In 2010, Indiana lost 754 people in motor vehicle accidents.

Motor vehicle accident causing fatalities impact a number of lives. In this reported crash, we have two people who passed away and one person who was injured. The families have lost their loved ones and friends have lost friends. Finally, the man who was injured has to live the scars of the accident for the rest of his life.

Our condolences go out to all families who lost loved ones in this horrific accident.
