If you were injured in a Michigan City, Indiana accident and went to the emergency room at a Franciscan St. Anthony Hospital, grab a piece of paper and a pencil and I will show you how to save a few bucks.
If you're going to make a personal injury claim, the insurance company is going to want to see your medical records. Your claim is based on your medical records. When your lawyer requests records from the hospital, the hospital is going to want to get paid for the production of the records. The cost is based on the number of pages and eventually the cost will be shifted onto you. However, you can get some important records for free.
Here's how! If you look at the last two pages of your Emergency Room discharge paperwork, you will see that you're able to access your records online. The document will provide you with a password. You will have to go online here, set up an account, if you do not have one set up already, put in the information, and then you can download some of your records.
If you have any questions about an Indiana personal injury matter or gathering your medical records from healthcare providers, you can always call me at (219) 690-8897. I am Guy DiMartino, meeting you at the intersection of law and medicine.
