Indiana personal injury lawyer discusses the dangers around portable swimming pools.

The potential injuries because of drowning exists around natural bodies of water and all size swimming pools. However, a recent report published in the Journal of Pediatrics found that portable inflatable pools are a “significant risk” for young children. These swimming pools can be exceptionally dangerous for youngsters because:

  • The sides of the pool are not sturdy and can cause a child to slip and fall in the pool when playing or trying to get out.
  • A distracted child may trip and fall into the pool when an adult unaware.
  • The pools are heavy and hold too much water to realistically be emptied every day and they are often not secured in the way that a full size pool would be secured.

We know it's going to be hot this summer and you need to occupy your children, however, these issues make children vulnerable around these portable swimming pools.
